Billy Crocker stows away on the S.S. American ocean liner from New York to England, in order to win his love, Hope Harcourt, from her fiancé Sir Evelyn Oakleigh. Coincidence has it that Billy's old friend Reno Sweeny, a sexy Evangelist turned nightclub singer, is also traveling on the boat. Hilarious complications ensue when "notorious" mobster, Moonface Martin, Public Enemy Number 13, and his friend Erma join the mix hiding out from the authorities.
