Mid-America Singers 40th Anniversary Concert

The 40th Anniversary Concert features a major work composed by one of the Mid-America Singers themselves, Ron Atteberry. The Singers will present Atteberry's "Mass for the Common Man." This contemporary work will be accompanied by a guest organist as well as the Singers' long time accompanist Joyce Minasian on the piano. The concert will feature local celebrity and television personality Steve Grant. Grant will emcee this concert in honor of the 40 years that Singers, accompanists, executive director, conductors, Board members, and audiences have invested in keeping the Mid-America Singers a vibrant part of the Springfield cultural scene. The Singers welcome as guest choir, Willard High School Chamber Choir who has been selected as one of only 40 choirs from across the nation to perform at the National Convention of the American Choral Directors Association in Miami. Performing as well will be Julie Minasian, daughter of Sam and Joyce Minasian in the "Family Feature". Julie has launched a career in Los Angeles in music and film. The concert will conclude with the familiar hymn tune "My Faith Has Found a Resting Place". Tickets $10, $8 seniors, $6 students - group rates available.
