The Skinny Improv is excited to annouce a theatrical production of Niel Simon's The Odd Couple. This production will feature favorite local performer Nathan Shelton and Jeff Jenkins playing both of the classic roles of Oscar Madison and Felix Unger. Nathan and Jeff will switch characters every night to make this an event unlike Springfield has ever seen. Directed by George Cron and filled with a cast of some of Springfield best's performers, this classic Niel Simon comedy will sure to be a production that will keep you laughing. The Odd Couple will be presented at The Skinny Improv Comedy Theatre April 3-13 with performances at 7:30 Thursday-Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 pm. Tickets will be $18 General Admission and $15 for Students with an $8 Student Rush ticket 15 mins before the show. Hosted by Music Director, Ron Spigelman, the program takes place on the Thursday before each concert, in the relaxed and informal surroundings of the store’s café. The evening begins at 5:30pm with a meet and greet - which is greatly enhanced by free coffee generously provided by Borders - followed by a preview of the upcoming concert; including fun facts about the featured composers and their works, musical anecdotes and excerpts, and on many occasions, a live performance. The program is generally about 45 minutes in length, including time for question and answer, and whenever possible, Spigelman is joined by either the guest artist, or a member of the orchestra. This popular series is free and open to all, and anyone attending is eligible for a generous in-store discount on Borders merchandise on the evening of the event – please see store staff for details. Evangel University’s spring drama production, “Anne of Green Gables,” dramatized by Joseph Robinette, will run April 3-5 and 10-12 at 7:30 p.m. In addition, matinee performances will be at 2:30 p.m. on April 5 and 12. All performances will be in the Barnett Fine Arts Theatre. Reserve seat tickets are $10 at the door, $8 in advance, and for matinees $6 advance or $8 at door. "Tiny Treasures" will be opening at Waverly House Friday, April 4, with a reception for the artists from 5-7:30 p.m. This is a juried show featuring thirty three artists in a variety of media including jewelry, wood, oils, pastel, watercolor, stained glass, fiber art, photography and pottery. The Evangel University art department will showcase the work of four art students in the annual Senior Art Exhibition, April 4-30 in the Fine Art and Design Gallery.
