Creamery's Nov. 7 First Friday ExhibitionTo Feature Culinary-Themed Art and Decorated Cakes
As culmination of the "Sample The Arts" collaborated month-long program between the Springfield Regional Arts Council and the Springfield-Greene County Libraries, The Creamery Arts Center will feature culinary-themed artwork by 29 local and regional artists . The exhibition will open for First Friday Art Walk on Nov. 7 with a reception from 6 to 9pm, and will continue through Nov. 30. A cash award of $100 will be presented at 7:30pm for the artwork deemed Best In Show.
Artists who will participate in the art exhibition include Dolores Bauer, Jan Bennicoff, Juliet Biggs, Roxie Castro, Carol Chappell, Lori Decker, Evelyn Elliot, Alicia Farris, Mary German, Deby Gilldy, Kris Haik, Mary Hamilton, Rena Hunter, Barb Jurecka, Renee Knight, Kel McDowell, Ann Meese, Angel Nahon, Susan Neese, Carol Penprase, Kim Peterson, Lois Reeves, Rosemary Rubenstein, Joan Smith, Sandy Strother, Carolyn Wallace, Sharon Warren, Jane Waschick and Sherry Wilson.
A cake-decorating competition is also part of the show and the cakes submitted will be judged by Julia Anderson, pastry chef at Nonna's Italian American Cafe, and by Kelli Franklin, recent winner of the "Taste of Springfield" cake-decorating contest. The winner will be announced Nov. 7 at 7:30pm and will receive a $100 cash award. Cake-decorators submitting entries include Ingrid Taylor, Robyn Redmon, Tanea Laub and Deana Parsick.
