ArtTalk by Evan Wright Thursday, July 20, 6:30- 7:30 PM Springfield Art Museum

 

Please join the Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild and the Friends of the Springfield Art Museum (FOSAM) as they present “Letters in Abstract” with graphic artist Evan Wright. Wright is an artist, illustrator, and designer who derives inspiration from graffiti and typographic forms and routinely uses spray paint, acrylics, and digital software in his work.

 

Wright will present a brief overview of the history of modern graffiti and its fine art derivatives, discuss his own graffiti-inspired works, and lead the group in a hands-on demo.

 

This event is free and open to the public and all materials will be provided. Reservations are required. Seating is limited. Email Sandra Letson at sandragraves@mchsi.com or call her at 417-869-7812 to reserve your spot.

Friends of the Springfield Art Museum (FOSAM) was formed in 1982 for the purpose of bringing educational lectures and exhibits to the museum. As an organization, dedicated to furthering artistic education in Springfield, the FOSAM organizes programs and lectures that provide educational support and sponsors the Family Art Lab. Their teams and committees have worked on behalf of the Museum to produce and sponsor over 120 exhibitions, receptions, gallery talks, educational lectures, special fundraising events and function and exhibits to the museum. http://www.artmuseumfriends-spfd.org/index.html

 

Studio 55 Fine Arts Guild is a member of the Springfield Regional Arts Council and was organized in 1996. It is composed of artists of all media and various levels of expertise. They are dedicated to support, educate and develop artists while promoting visual arts in Springfield and the surrounding communities. Monthly programs and meetings are free and open to the public.
