This committee is made up (according to the bylaws) of the President, the President-elect/Vice President, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and the Immediate Past President. It is charged with oversight of the Executive Director (contract/annual evaluation), general personnel policies, the budget, the monthly agenda, policy recommendations, and general event oversight. They are responsible for setting the monthly agendas, and have oversight of all Ad Hoc Committees (Festivals, Cultural Plan, Advocacy, Architectural, Ozzies, Nominating), which may be assigned to another committee at the Executive Committee’s discretion. The Executive Committee meets monthly on the second Monday.
Standing Committees
The following four committees are to be chaired by an SRAC Board member, and meet monthly. Members may be pulled from the general community, the Board, and area arts organizations. The Executive Committee and/or the SRAC Board may make referrals to these committees for study or action.Community Arts & Education
This committee is responsible for ongoing educational programs, educational outreach, and portions of the Cultural Plan. Current educational programs include CLICK, Mini Monet Mondays, Saturday Art Club, Arts in the Park.
Asset & Finance Development
This committee is charged with advising and reviewing the budget, grant applications, soliciting fundraising, administering the Cultural Trust, facility development, the audit, and setting policy recommendations regarding use of SRAC facilities such as the Creamery. It includes members from outside the Board.
Community Cultural Development
This committee works to create opportunities for art within the community. Updates to the Cultural Plan, Public art, legislative oversight, and advocacy are examples of what would fall to this committee.
Marketing
This committee oversees marketing and promotions, including prioritization and review of brochures, calendars, and other print materials, as well as the website. Membership growth and development is generally assigned here, as are the Ozzie Awards.
Ad Hoc Committees
First Night
This committee is charged with communication/oversight with UDA, recruiting volunteers, soliciting sponsorships, ensuring marketing and setting policies for the festival.
Artsfest
This committee is charged with communication/oversight with Urban Districts Alliance as our contracted producer, recruiting volunteers, soliciting sponsorships, ensuring marketing and setting policies for the festival.
Architectural
This committee is in existence for as long as the Creamery Arts Center is under renovation. It meets as needed and includes City representatives. No chair is designated.
This committee is charged with reviewing Ozzie nominations (or facilitating a panel of judges), planning the annual banquet, and publicity of the event.Membres - Jeanie Morris, William Brandon Bowman, Ralph Rognstad
Nominating
This committee is ad hoc and, according to the bylaws, is put together no less than 90 days prior to the annual meeting in June. The Executive Committee appoints members based on the bylaws requirements of two members from the membership at large and three members from the Board of Directors, one of whom shall serve as chairperson.
Bylaws
This committee last convened in 2003 for a review of the Bylaws.
This committee is responsible for forming and maintaining a relationship with Military members and their families, welcoming them into the Arts community.Member - Terry Bloodworth Steering Committee for the Cultural Plan
This committee is no longer active. It was facilitated by the City during the development of the Cultural Plan. It could be reactivated for the next five-year review, which would be due by 2009.

Note: The Arts Council Nominating Committee meets each year in early Spring to select candidates. Those names are submitted to the membership and elections are held in June of each year during the annual membership meeting. Board terms are three years, renewable one time, for a total time served of six years (although appointments to unfilled positions may extend that time). The Arts Council maintains an on-going list of interested people for future openings and takes applications at any point. Please see below for the board application.Name
