Marshfield Junior High Art & Literacy Project
The SRAC collaborated with the entire sixth grade at Marshfield Jr. High in a three day art and literacy program. Approximately 250 students participated in the project that focused on books that have won Caldecott awards for their outstanding illustrations. First, the classes were introduced to the Caldecott books by completing several language arts strategies. Next, they worked with a partner to produce illustrations of their own, inspired by a particular Caldecott winning book. Using a plethora of supplies, students created one of a kind pieces of art that they were proud to display in their hallways. Thanks to all of the sixth grade teachers for your willingness to participate and great attitudes. You truly helped to make this project a success!
