‘Sunday Sounds’ June 21 at Library Station
Patrons of all ages are invited to attend Sunday Sounds at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, in the Frisco Room at the Library Station, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway. The Farnum Family, an Ozark family band, will play gospel, bluegrass and old-timey music. Refreshments will be provided by Panera Bread. For more information on this free program, call 865-1340.

Children are invited to attend the following Storytimes in the story hour room at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.:

‘Computer-Instructed Keyboarding’ June 22-23 and 25 at Edge Community Technology Center

Central St. The Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing software helps participants learn or improve their keyboarding skills. Children of all ages are invited to attend Oh, Pioneer! at 1 and 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, in the auditorium at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. Children can sing along with Judy Domeny Bowen as she performs lively folksongs from the Ozarks. Judy will accompany herself on the guitar, mountain dulcimer and banjo, and teach you how to play the spoons and limberjacks. They'll learn about pioneer life and see artifacts such as animal skulls and hides, quilts, washboards and figurines that help convey the heritage of the Ozarks. "Community and Conflict: The Impact of the Civil War in the Ozarks" on June 26 at the Library Center
Adults are invited to attend Community and Conflict: The Impact of the Civil War in the Ozarks at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 26, in the auditorium at the Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave. The long-awaited unveiling of Community and Conflict: The Impact of the Civil War in the Ozarks, an online collection of original letters, diaries, journals, court cases and other documents written by the families, soldiers, doctors, husbands and wives who experienced this devastating event, has arrived as the public is invited to witness a demonstration of web site and an overview of the rare materials available.
