Arts Council Writers’ Workshop To Feature KSMU Radio News Director

Springfield Regional Arts Council will feature Missy Shelton, News Director and Content Coordinator for KSMU-FM

radio station and Producer/Host for Ozarks Public Television at its June 12 Thursday night workshop beginning at 7:00PM at the Creamery Arts Center.

Shelton will speak on “To The Point: Writing For Broadcast”. Her radio reports have aired nationally on NPR programs and she produces and hosts the state-wide public TV program, “Jeff City Journal” during legislative sessions. Shelton’s professional accomplishment include a number of State and regional awards and one national Edward R. Murrow Award. Assignments have taken her all over the world including to China, Cuba and Europe. In addition to her duties at KSMU and Missouri Public Television, Shelton also teaches journalism courses at Missouri State University.
