Alea & Alexa Kilgore to Perform for Gigs at the Gillioz
Wednesday, June 11, 2008
The Gillioz Theatre is proud to welcome Alea and Alexa Kilgore as part our Gigs at the Gillioz series, which is designed to highlight and promote the very best in local music. Alea and Alexa Kilgore are folk singers, musicians, and, most importantly, sisters from Springfield who blend their beautiful harmonies and sisterly chemistry to form a wonderful musical experience. "Uplifting Humanity Thru Harmony" at the Gillioz Theatre will also be an evening of goodwill with a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales benefiting Ethiopian Child, a Springfield-based agency that assists deaf children in Ethiopia. Tickets are just $10.00 to benefit this wonderful cause. Guests will also have the option to purchase tickets at the general admission price of $7.00 if they do not wish to donate to Ethiopian Child. Alea, a sophomore at Missouri State University, has trained as a member of the wildly popular university singing group A Cub Bella. Alexa, a sophomore at Glendale High School, is the current champion of "Glendale Idol". Together, they have enjoyed success with performances at many local venues and locations across the Midwest. In addition to original compositions, the sisters also pay respect to influences as diverse as Jason Mraz and Norah Jones with tribute performances of some of their biggest hits.
