Solstice Poetry Slam in the Ozarks

Friday, June 13, 2008

Well Fed Head Books and the MOpoetry Slam are pleased to announce their first ever SOLSTICE POETRY SLAM. This all-day, outdoor poetry and music festival will occur on Saturday, June 21st from 2:00 PM to midnight in Webster county.

"We are thrilled to bring an event like this to the Ozarks," said Lauryl Wagoner, captain of MOpoetry's 2008 National Poetry Slam Team. "In addition to poetry open mics, haiku, comedy and team slams throughout the day we have some amazing musicians lined up to play."

Located in Webster county along the upper Finley river, this camping, poetry and music event is open to everyone. There is plenty of space available for tent and pop-up trailer camping. All poets are encouraged to bring their work and participate in the open mics and slams.

Musical acts Jah Kings, Mincks and Miller, Eric Leick and Noah Earle will perform. In the evening, the 2008 MOpoetry Slam Team will take on the visiting Ozark Poetry Slam from Fayetteville, Arkansas, in a National Poetry Slam style team event.
