CAPTURE COLOR AT THE ARTS COUNCIL'S FREE ART DAY
Monday, June 23, 2008
The Springfield Regional Arts Council invites the community to its bi-monthly Free Art Day, Saturday, June 28 from 10 AM to noon at The Creamery Arts Center across from Hammons Field. June's Free Art Day will feature five hands-on art activities, including making kaleidoscopes, watercolor fireworks, paper plate fans, decorating colorful picture frames and storytelling with the Springfield-Greene County Library. Says Sandra CH Smith, executive director of the Arts Council, “This is a perfect chance, if you have grandkids visiting, to bring them to the Creamery and have some quality time doing fun arts projects with them….and you’ll both have some great lifetime souvenirs of the experience!” Free Art Day is free and open to the community. No registration is required. The Arts Council recommends allowing 45 min. to complete all activities. For more information, call the Arts Council at 417-862-ARTS(2787) or visit www.SpringfieldArts.org.
