Call for Artists: Art from the Heartland

The Indianapolis Art Center is excited to host Art from the Heartland, a biannual juried exhibition of artwork created by artists in the Midwest area. Highlighting artists from Indiana and surrounding states, this exhibition looks to survey Middle America and celebrate the voices of contemporary art that lie therein. Prizes include cash awards totaling $4k, with two artists being chosen to host their own solo show.

Call for Artists: Spring Fling Art Show

Sedalia Visual Art Association is planning its first juried art show at the Hayden Liberty Center in Sedalia, MO. All mediums will be allowed including photography and 3D. All 2D pieces will need to have wire hangers, and photos need to be framed. Maximum of two pieces. Registration cost is $15 for students, $25 for members, and $35 for non-members. The theme of the show is trees. 

This show will be juried and judged by internationally known local artist, Doug Freed. 


1st place: $100 sponsored by Central Bank of Sedalia

AARP Community Challenge Grant

AARP invites your organization to submit applications for quick-action projects that can help your community become more livable. Applications for the AARP Community Challenge are being accepted for small grants to improve housing, transportation, public space, smart cities, civic engagement and more.

Applications are due by April 1, 2020, 11:59 p.m. ET and all projects must be completed by November 9, 2020.

The Macon Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Fork & Cork Festival in downtown Macon, MO every fall. Our festival attracts high end visual art artisans and craftsmen as well as quality antique dealers. Jazz, blues, country and swing band musicians entertain throughout the day. Good food and tasty wines add to the mix making for an outstanding day.
