Please provide a clean white t-shirt to tie dye during camp. Campers should wear their tie-dye shirt for camp pictures on July 15. Don’t forget the Next Gen Creators Show in the SMAC Gallery during the month of August. Campers will be able to submit some of their creations to be in the show and may offer those pieces for sale if they choose.
Instructor Julie Zetina's passion is to create beautiful things and unleash them into the world. When she isn't creating her own art, she is facilitating and teaching art to people, young and older, alike. Her art teaching career spans 31 years and in that time a deep philosophy of repurposing and reusing items once deemed as garbage or trash has been the core of her personal art as well as providing opportunities for the public to share in her recycling and multimedia adventures. Offering experiences that include exploring, inventing and independent creating (along with some technical guidance) are Zetina's goals when conducting workshops and classes.
Here is what you can expect at camp:
1. Ceramic Relief Portraits
2. Alternative Portraits with Found Materials and tie-Dye
3. Art from Nature – handmade walking sticks
4. Stained Glass: Medieval to Modern
5. Glaze and Grout and Story/Bio writing –imaginative stories about our recycled characters (wear your tie-dye)
