Mix it Up: Sculpture and Pop Art With Lacey Finchum

Next Gen Creators Camp- Session 2 will focus on famous artists and art styles. In each camp session students will talk about different famous artists and their art then, create projects based on those artist’s styles. Campers should bring a snack and drink. Please provide a clean white t-shirt to tie dye during camp. Campers should wear their tie-dye shirt for camp pictures on June 24. Don’t forget the Next Gen Creators Show in the SMAC Gallery during the month of August. Campers will be able to submit some of their creations to be in the show and may offer those pieces for sale if they choose. As an artist, author and educator Lacey Finchum is passionate about encouraging people to try new things and follow their dreams. Her creative practice is mostly focused on painting and murals but often includes inspired works in other mediums. As an educator, she has taught students of all ages through private and public venues. It is her mission to help students explore new concepts and materials so that they may find the areas they are most passionate about.

1. Patterns and Prints with Escher
2. Art as Meditation and Prayer – sand mandalas and tie-dyes
3. Chihuly “Glass” Sculptures
4. Mondrian “Stained Glass”
5. Warhol – Pop Art Handprints – (wear your Tie-dye)
