Downtown Springfield’s Founders Park hosts the annual Wednesday Concerts at Noon series Wednesdays, May 9 - June 27, 12:15-12:45 p.m., at 330 E. Water St.
Guests are invited to bring their lunch to enjoy this free concert outdoor concert series, featuring a variety of local performers. Concerts include:
May 9: Joni Lemons, singer/guitarist
May 16: Anthony and The Clarkey, rock-n-roll band
May 23: Springfield Little Theatre, musical theater performance
May 30: US Air Force Bane, acoustic rock band
June 6: Chris Cory, folk blues
June 13: Springfield Community Jazz ensemble, Big Band jazz
June 20: Charlie Rosenbury, singer/guitarist
June 27: Sarah M. Smith, vocals and acoustic guitar
Maritime Gourmet Coffee and Pastries sells lunch and snacks on site during the concerts.
The series is presented by the Downtown Springfield Community Improvement District and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.
Founders Park marks the site where Springfield was first established in 1829. The park, designed to resemble a former quarry on the site, includes photos and illustrations detailing Springfield’s history, a fountain and an outdoor amphitheater, home of the concert series as well as Movies at Founders Park, a weekend movie series in June and July.
