"What To Consider When Photographing Your Art"
January 9, 2019: 1:00 p.m.
(2nd Wednesday Program)
National Avenue Christian Church Gallery
1515 South National Ave. Springfield.
Adam Schwartz, creator of Silver Foxx Studio, will share examples of his photography, tell a little about his background and discuss why using high quality professional grade images of your art will boost your chances of success in juried shows. He will also examine what to consider when photographing your own art or hiring someone to accomplish this for you. Adam said: "You only get one chance to make a first impression, so why ruin that chance during a juried art show or competition using a poor quality image?" After medically retiring due to combat related injuries in Iraq, Adam turned to photography as a means of Therapy. He bought his first camera in the summer of 2016 and since then he has: photographed the Standing Rock Protest in North Dakota (December of 2016), worked with an apparel company in New York, has been in 5 gallery showings locally as well as D.C. and Iowa, this year alone two of his photos took first place in the state of Missouri, one of which went on to win 1st place both Regionally and Nationally, and most recently his image was published on the front cover of a magazine. In late 2017 he created the SILVER FOXX brand.
Members and visitor are encouraged to bring a piece of their art for "show and share" for the meeting. This could be a finished piece or a work in progress you want some feedback on from other artists.
