Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) added a new team member on February 3, 2020 with the hiring of Becky Overend as the Director of Sales. A brand-new position created at SLT, she comes to the organization with over 20 years of successful sales experience. Her top priorities in this position is to grow the underwriting and sponsor support for the theatre’s mainstage season, education programs, fundraising events and capital campaigns.
“I have always been an SLT fanatic and supporter,” Overend says. “As a downtown resident, I appreciate the positive impact SLT has on our city and community.” Overend started her career in media with radio sales and most recently worked for KOLR/KRBK/KOZL television group as a Senior Account Executive for nearly nine years. “I’m very excited to put my experience and knowledge to work helping the theatre in its continued growth as a member of this fantastic team!”
Joining a full-time staff of (now) 12, Overend started during an exciting time for the theatre as they continue with their largest capital campaign to date. The Next Stage campaign has a goal of raising $5 million with over $2 million raised as of now. During the month of February, a sub-campaign called The Bigger Picture is underway to raise the remaining $120,000 of the $1.37 million purchase price of the old McDaniel School building, now named The Judith Enyeart Reynolds School of the Performing Arts for Springfield Little Theatre. Overend will join the rest of the staff in raising the funds needed to pay off the school and complete necessary renovation projects, all of which are included in the bigger Next Stage Campaign outline of projects.
Of bringing Overend on staff, Executive Director, Beth Domann, says “We couldn’t be happier to have Becky Overend join our staff! She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team and has been a supporter of SLT for years!”
