‘Ozarks Poets Reading’ April 30 at Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library

Adults are invited to attend Ozarks Poets Reading at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

To cap off National Poetry Month, local poets Karen Craigo, Loren Broaddus and Kate Murr will read from their works. Light refreshments will be served.

‘Poetry Recitations on Demand’ April 25 at Strafford Branch Library

Nominate the next Missouri Poet Laureate

In 2008, Governor Matt Blunt established the post of Missouri Poet Laureate. The Missouri Poet Laureate has the opportunity to foster the art of poetry, encourage literacy and learning, and encourage the reading and writing of poetry across the state. The Missouri Poet Laureate enriches the lives of residents by sharing and promoting poetry through public appearances, readings, workshops, and digital and social media.

This is our December Poetry slam, and we're mixing things up a bit!
Instead of a regular poetry slam, it'll be a triple threat sure to please:

1-We'll start off the night with the Haiku slam
2-Followed by a totally optional White Elephant gift exchange
3-We'll end the night with a compliment death match

September Poetry Slam

This will be our regular poetry slam! 

Cover only $5 anytime after doors. 
Doors & poet sign up at 6:00 pm list may be pulled at 7 at hosts discretion. Feature starts at 7.

$50 1st place prize

Hang out time 15 minutes after the slam at Civil Kitchen. 
Join us for food and drink and the love of poetry.
