As you may know, recently I tracked through Vienna in pursuit of learning all I could about the Viennese artists Gustav Klimt (1862-1918), Egon Schiele (1890-1918) and F. Hundertwasser (1928-2000). And of course, how could I not take in some Music in the City of all great Composers! Mark your calendars for December 13th to attend the Christmas Open House.
Saturday August 25 at School of Rock Springfield from 10:00am-2:00pm. Drop in to their open house celebration, take the tour, try out instruments in the Jam Room, take advantage of new and returning student sign-up specials and enter to win free giveaways and prizes.

The Mount Pleasant Winery is hosting a "Meet the Artists" reception on Sunday, July 16th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Over 70 works of art from the 205 Gallery at Ozark, MO will be showcased at the winery. The artists, who work in a variety of mediums and styles, will be available to talk about their art and methods with guests. The artists exhibiting are Nancy Day, Jim Lewis, Nina Lewis, Marylou Legsdin, Joellen Mittlestadt, and William Taylor.
Reception for special guest Amy Kalimat from Amman, Jordan featuring her whimsical watercolor paintings.
Amy was born and raised in Springfield, but has spent the last 15 years living in Amman, Jordan.
