ARTIST REGISTRY

The Springfield Regional Arts Council has created a registry of artists in Springfield and our 27-county region in Southwest Missouri. The Artist Registry is compiled as a comprehensive catalogue and made available at local design trade shows and business expositions for residential and commercial purposes. Images of the artists' works are also presented in an electronic slideshow at various events and locations.

Click an artist name to learn more and get a closer look at the artist's work. Artists should only be contacted for inquiries in buying, commissioning, or exhibiting their artwork.

  • Striving to create art that encompasses rich vibrant colors, luscious actual textures, and bold unfaltering lines, is my desire. I want people to view my artwork as very sensory and engaging. Working with hot beeswax, damar resin, and oil pigment allows me immediate access to the natural or organic state of creating. The encaustic medium transforms from a liquid to a solid within seconds. Acting and reacting becomes intuitive and transcendental. I’m inherently drawn to nature for my subject. Nature transformed and abstracted as I sense and experience it through the human condition. My ultimate hope is for the viewer to connect, if even for a split second, with the splendid colors and textures that compose life.

  • RECENT EXHIBITIONS: January 2007 through June 2010 - In house artist for Randy Bacon's " Monarch Art Factory" ( Garage Door Gallery in 2007 and then name changed to Figment gallery and culture house 2008-current). I have shown in several faculty exhibitions through MSU and OTC in the last 5 years. I exhibited in the Gillioz Theater Feb. 2010, Guaranty Federal Bank on Battlefield, 2009, through Springfield Regional Arts Council Arts in Public Spaces also August 2009 in the Plastic Surgery Center through SRAC/Art in Public Spaces. Currently exhibiting in the Kansas City Crossroads District at the "Apex Art Space" June and July of 2010. One of ten artists chosen to create a painting for the Springfield Symphony Orchestra's 75th Anniversary Season. My painting appeared on the cover of a concert program. July 2010 showcase artist for "Obelisk Home" gallery.
