Exhibition Title: “Habitat”
Exhibition Statement:
Habitat is the essential place where life can thrive, a concept that transcends species and connects us all. This exhibition explores the fundamental, shared need for a safe and nurturing environment, whether it is a nest carefully woven into a high branch, a home built upon a firm foundation, or even a supportive community. This exhibition connects to Habitat for Humanity’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Held in conjunction with the 20th Annual Birdhouse Auction benefitting Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO, this show recognizes that supporting secure human habitats is intrinsically linked to valuing the natural ones around us. 20% of the proceeds from all sold artwork in this exhibition will go directly to Habitat for Humanity.
“Habitat” invites you to invest in a world where every individual, feathered or otherwise, has the opportunity to find their place and build a brighter future.
Exhibition Location: Obelisk Gallery at Obelisk Home, 214 W Phelps St #101, Springfield, MO 65806
Requirements:
– Artists must be residents of Missouri or adjacent state.
– There are no size restrictions for 2D work, but the artwork must be wired and ready for hanging.
– 3D works will also be accepted but must be no larger than 30”w x 30”d x 72”h and weigh no more than 70 pounds.
– Artists not able to physically deliver/pick-up artwork are responsible for shipping and return shipping.
– Artists must have their work available for sale. For this exhibition only, the price split will be: 50% to the artist, 30% to the gallery, and 20% donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Timeline
· Submission Deadline: March 13th, 2026 by midnight
· Artists Notified of Submission Results: March 17th, 2026
· Artwork Drop-off: Tuesday, March 24th – Saturday, March 28th
· Opening Reception: Friday, April 3rd from 6-10pm
· Exhibition Dates: April 3rd – April 25th
· Artwork Pick-up: April 28th – May 2nd
How to Submit:
All artwork must be submitted using the online form below by midnight CT March 13th, 2026 due to limited space, all artwork will go through a selection process, and artists will be notified of selection by March 17th, 2026.
