The Springfield Little Theatre Education Department facilitates numerous youth performance troupe ensembles featuring students in grades 2nd – 12th. In addition to performing at the historic Landers Theatre and The Judy, our troupers mentor young children in our educational programs, act as leaders in multiple areas of school and community and entertain at our special events and at special events in the community.
Traits that are instilled in troupers through their training at SLT include responsibility, accountability, dependability, teamwork, determination, and confidence, among many others. All characteristics help to prepare these students to be future leaders in whatever endeavors they pursue.
Springfield Little Theatre’s Youth Performance Troupe auditions are held annually each summer and each ensemble works together for the entirety of our season. Troupe involvement offers a stimulating and fast-paced rehearsal environment, a sense of belonging, an investment in the community, discounts on our classes, internship opportunities, and college/career guidance from our caring and experienced staff.
For the serious student aspiring for a career in theatre, our troupes function as a formal training program, a springboard, a home base, and a support network.
