Obelisk Home will be hosting their 17th Annual Birdhouse Auction to benefit Habitat for Humanity this year in September-October. If you have the time, Obelisk Home would love for you to donate your talent to create a birdhouse for the auction and help enable this wonderful organization to continue its important work. Last year they collectively raised over $1,200!
The silent auction for the birdhouses will begin on Friday, September 1st, 2023, in conjunction with Obelisk Home’s First Friday Art Walk and continue through to the following Art Walk on Friday, October 6th, with bids closing that evening at 10pm.
100% of the proceeds from the auction go directly to help Habitat for Humanity provide safe, comfortable housing for families in need in the Springfield area.
One of the best parts of this challenge is that artists have complete creative freedom—the birdhouse does not even have to be functional! In previous years, Obelisk Home has had everything from very traditional to ultra-contemporary - they have been loved equally by the public.
All finished birdhouses must be delivered to Obelisk Home between Tuesday, August 22nd – Saturday, August 26th (earlier delivery accepted with approval). Please email Obelisk Home at [email protected] if you would like to create a birdhouse for this year’s auction, and let them know whether you will need a frame or if you will be creating your own. Obelisk Home has a small selection of fun birdhouse frames to choose from, but it is first come, first serve!
