ARTIST REGISTRY

The Springfield Regional Arts Council has created a registry of artists in Springfield and our 27-county region in Southwest Missouri. The Artist Registry is compiled as a comprehensive catalogue and made available at local design trade shows and business expositions for residential and commercial purposes. Images of the artists' works are also presented in an electronic slideshow at various events and locations.

Click an artist name to learn more and get a closer look at the artist's work. Artists should only be contacted for inquiries in buying, commissioning, or exhibiting their artwork.

  • About Yourself

  • I have worked with multiple art forms throughout my life, ranging from pencil drawn portraits to music, also including working as a professional cake artist for the past 12 years. My new and most recent focus of my free time however, has been in fluid art. When I first discovered this art form, I found the process mesmerizing and the finished pieces so beautiful and unique every time. I just love the feeling of freedom and surprise that comes with each pour onto the canvas, and the endless possibilities when combining different techniques and mixed media. Fluid art is so different than the more traditional mediums I was more familiar with like drawing, and decorating cakes, where one must be meticulous, exact and purposeful. This beautiful art form has become such a freeing outlet for me, and has really I feel awakened my creative curiosity again.

  • Each piece of fluid art even if made with the same technique and colors will end up slightly unique, a true original, no two matching exactly. I experiment a lot with different techniques in my work giving a variety of patterns and details, some more complex compositions with lots of vibrant colors, while another will be more minimalistic with lots of negative space. I feel there are endless options with abstract art, and this medium especially offers so many fun possibilities.

Canvas is what the majority of my work has been focused on, I've also done smaller beautiful designs on coasters, jewelry trays, and glass objects. Some of my pieces I add detail work to with paint pens to add another layer of depth and interesting touches. I'm a sucker for sparkle and metallic, so one of the two is usually involved in most of my pieces.

  • I attended Missouri State University as a fine art major, then graphic design respectively, taking several fine art and design classes, however never completed a degree in the arts. I graduated with a baking and pastry certificate, as well as associates degree from OTC in 2013. I have been working as a cake artist professionally since 2007.
