  Gentry Amstutz is a Missouri-based artist currently living in Nixa, Missouri. Gentry's passion for creativity finds its expression primarily through acrylic painting with dynamic incorporation of mixed media. Blending pop and collage art, with a sub-genre of pulp culture, he has been primarily self-taught fostering a personal and unique style. Rooted in his deep love for artistic expression, Gentry's portfolio exemplifies his creativity and innovation as he continues to grow in his craft.

• Artist Statement:

  My art offers a personal reflection of my life in a physical form. Expressing myself on the canvas, my work often exemplifies my current emotion. It could be a soundbite I just heard, a film or line that’s stuck with me, or even an event in the political world. Using culture and historical events to fuel my work, this often results in a building block of my emotions that is displayed through my work. These subjects can vary from anything including corporate greed, Native-American history, or even post-punk and new wave music. My art blends familiar visuals in unique arrangements to create new conceptual layered designs. Determined by the subject matter and inspirations, every piece is arranged and approached from a new direction. The subject matter of each piece often determines the various materials and media used to best display my interests and ideas. In life, I love being able to experience great works of art. Art gives me an experience that helps me better understand my life while understanding the world the artist is trying to create. Through my art, I aim to create and invoke a similar feeling, and connect with the people around me.
